Between last night and today most of the area saw snow change to sleet, snow and sleet accumulation was between 4 and 8 inches when all the precipitation was over. Now comes the second part of this storm. We saw the cold air start to crash down earlier today but now its getting colder and any liquid has or will be freezing. If you have not done so, go out shovel and treat your driveways and side walks because everything will remain frozen through Tuesday. Temperatures will be stuck in the single digits for M.L.K day but will rise into the low to mid 20s on Tuesday as the arctic high moves south and east. In the mean time this high pressure will make a low travel over the great lakes, this would send a cold front through the region Wednesday night spreading rain for the region. An area of low pressure looks to form along the front to continue the rain through a good portion of Thursday. After, cooler temperatures return. A disturbance could send snow showers to the region Friday night.

Long range: watching several pieces of energy moving around there could possibly be a low pressure that impacts the region. At this time I do not see the pieces coming together to make it a large impact event.
